Chargeback and reserve assessment

A financial reading of dispute ratios, rolling reserves, and holdbacks as they will appear to a gateway reading your application.

Application forms ask about chargebacks as if the answer were a single percentage. The papers behind that percentage are messier: representments, pre-arbitration, friendly fraud, and refunds booked as disputes. A gateway that underwrites card-not-present volume will read those papers closely.

We take the dispute reports you actually have — from an acquirer, a prior gateway, or a marketplace — and read them against sales. We do not invent a ratio for months you cannot evidence. We separate chargebacks from refunds so the application does not treat them as the same number.

Rolling reserves and holdbacks belong in this reading as well. A reserve that still sits with a prior processor is not “missing money” in your current account; it is a fact the new gateway will want named. Leaving it unnamed is how a clean-looking bank statement becomes a problem.

The memo gives you a defensible way to answer the dispute questions on the form, and a list of reports still worth requesting from a prior processor before you submit.

Typical duration: 5–8 working days. Quoted after we see the dispute and reserve reports you hold.
